In 1989, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) developed the Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund (VPSTF) to financially assist in removing harmful contaminants and cleanup sites where Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) have leaked. Since 1989, GES has been assisting clients in submitting their claims through Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for reimbursement.
